Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Retention Coordinator collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and other campus departments to identify at-risk students and provide necessary support and resources to help them thrive academically, socially, and personally. Responsible for tracking retention data, identify trends, and assess the effectiveness of retention initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for improvements. Assists in developing and implementing strategies aimed at improving student engagement, satisfaction, and overall academic success.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze student data to identify at-risk populations and develop intervention strategies.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on student retention trends, intervention outcomes, and recommended strategies for improvement.
- Utilize data to identify patterns in student attrition and recommend targeted interventions for specific student groups.
- Responsible for tracking retention data, identify trends, and assess the effectiveness of retention initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct frequent surveys and feedback sessions with students to understand their experiences and challenges.
- Develop, implement, and assess programs designed to improve student retention and academic success.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies aimed at improving student engagement, satisfaction, and overall academic success.
- Coordinate retention-focused workshops and events aimed at enhancing student engagement, academic preparedness, and social integration that targets students at academic risk.
- Participate in activities and initiatives designed to promote student retention, contributing to overall student success and persistence.
- Stay current on best practices in student retention and higher education trends and propose innovative strategies for improving student retention and engagement.
- Collaborate with academic departments to identify early warning signs and plan intervention strategies.
- Work closely with academic advisors, faculty, and other support services to address barriers to student persistence and success.
- Serve as a student advocate, connecting students with appropriate resources and support services.
- Provide academic guidance to students and assist with the development of a personalized student success plan.
- Engage with students through in-person meetings, workshops, and virtual sessions to address academic, financial, and personal challenges and promote the benefits of completing a degree or certificate program.
- Partner with student organizations to promote engagement and foster a sense of community.
- Use a variety of communication channels such as email, social media, and campus events to reinforce retention messages and encourage ongoing student engagement.
- Assist in the management of the student mentorship program, including oversight of the platform/software in use to support student engagement and retention.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs other related duties and/or projects as needed or assigned.

Required:- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- 3 years full time experience.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- -Experience in higher education, student affairs, or student support services with a focus on student retention, academic advising, or career advising.
